Garmin is a leading producer of world-class navigation devices. Nuvi is one of its unit that is designed with innovative technology and a user-friendly interface. For more accurate and reliable information on the navigation devices, Garmin releases the maps and software updates every now and then. It becomes important to install the Garmin Nuvi update every time they are available. For this, follow the process given below.
The first step of the Garmin Nuvi Update is to download and install the Garmin Express application. To install the application, you first have to visit the Garmin Express window by typing “garmin.com/express”. Further, you have to click the provided download links, as per your operating system.
Then, double-click the downloaded setup file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process successfully.
After that, open the Garmin Express application by clicking its icon from the desktop or system tray.
In the Garmin Express application interface, you are required to press the “Add a device” icon. By doing so, the application will start searching for the sat nav device.
Now, you have to connect your sat nav device and system via USB cable. For connecting the device, use the USB cable that comes with the purchased product. Attach one end of the cable to the system and another end to the navigation device and leave it connected until the Garmin Update process gets completed.
Further, from the search result, select your sat nav device and hit the “Add Device” tab that is located near your product.
In the next window, Garmin asks you to sign in to your Garmin account to proceed further. For this, tap the “Sign In” button and provide the username and password that are linked with Garmin.
If you are a new user and don’t have an account yet, then, press the “Create an Account” button. Further, enter all the required details for the completion of the account creation process.
Afterwards, the product registration window will prompt on your screen. You will get this window, only when if you have not registered your product yet. In order to register your product, you have to enter your email address and click the “Next” button.
Thereafter, enter a nickname to your Garmin Nuvi device for easy identification of your device. Provide the nickname and click the “Next” tab to move further with the process.
